Chingford to the North Downs and back

Today was a super long one.  Bike all ready.  Bag packed and off to the North Downs to ride the green lanes there.  28 miles of rode to get there which is not good.  Once there it was worth it.  Great trails.

Now knackered.

Bike requires MOT

So to ride any motorcycle on a United Kingdom road it requires a test to ensure road worthiness.    Thats an MOT.

The MOT on the Husqvarna TE 510 expires at the end of this month.

I need to:
Attach a legal sized number plate.  The one that came on the bike is super small
Attach a rear red reflector
Adjust the high and low beam front light settings

One rear wheel bearing is slightly loose, has a small amount of play.  I may just replace all of them.

Essex Loop last nite 20/07/2010

Done a cool loop last night.

Chingford to just north of High Easter and back.

In the group were, Ollie on his Honda CRX 250, Harriet on her man's WR250, Me on my Husqvarna TE510 and Roy on his KTM 520.  Ron never made it out due to a virus.

We meet at our mountain bike start location in Chingford car park on the plains and departed at 415.  85 miles later and we was back by 930pm

What a ride.  Here is the GPS of the loop.

Easy to fit with the correct tools.

Check the bike out

OK so the TE510 is used.  Its been ridden but seems well looked after.

When I got it back I gave it a few check out.

This is what I found:-
Fork seals gone
Rear tyre has a moose instead on a tube
rear tyre spinning on rear, no rim lock
Headset notched
Rear wheel bearing slight play
front disc warped
Front brake spongy
Throttle cable not smooth
Lights not working correctly, no rear brake, no high beam
Sometimes will not restart

Oh well, a few things to keep me going
